We have created a pre-placement information form which you may wish to complete before you attend your placement. The form is intended to let your placement area know a little about you before you start, and also contains a wellbeing plan. This is an optional form, however, if you would like to use it you can complete as much, or as little as you like.

If you have a disability, or health condition, that the placement team need to be aware of when allocating your placement you should let us know when we send your placement planning form at the beginning of your studies. We understand that things can change so if you need to update us and your placement start date is more than 2 months away, please get in touch.

If you have a disability, or health condition, that your placement setting need to be aware of then please speak to your placement provider. You should do this two weeks before your placement start date. If you would like support with this, please contact your placement lead or link lecturer.

The support available while you’re studying is still there while you’re on placement.

On arrival at Sheffield Hallam University, you are allocated a named Student Support Adviser. Your Student Support Adviser is there to listen and advise you on a range of issues, including signposting to specialist services across the University. You can book an appointment with your Student Support Adviser at any time throughout your studies, including while you’re on placement.

You can register with Disabled Student Support if you have a disability, including a long-term medical condition, specific learning difficulty, eg dyslexia, or a mental health condition.

Support is available if you are experiencing financial difficulties, having problems with your student loan or would like help managing your finances. You can book an appointment with Student Funding to discuss your circumstances.

If you need to talk to someone or want help to work out the right support for you, you can book an appointment with a Wellbeing Practitioner. You can choose face-to-face, online (via zoom) or phone appointments.
