Milestones to prepare for your Progress Reviews

Milestones can mean different things to different people. At Sheffield Hallam University we use this term to describe the progress you are making in respect of different areas of the apprenticeship broken down into knowledge, skill, or behaviour. It is helpful to review your progress against a set of milestones for development of competence. You can speak to your coach about how these can help you to understand your progress. Normally, when you have reached ‘competent’ for all the knowledge, skills, or behaviour areas of your Apprenticeship then you are ready to go through the Gateway and progress towards End Point Assessment.

We are moving all Apprentices to new versions of Milestones designed to better understand your starting point and help track progress at critical stages in the Apprenticeship.  There are two versions, one is for those studying an Apprenticeship at levels 4/5/6 (sometimes referred to as Undergraduate) and a different version for study at level 7 (often referred to as Post-graduate):

        UG – L4-5-6 Apprenticeship Milestones 0-9 v-AIIR June2021

        PG – L7 Apprenticeship Milestones 0-9 v-AIIR June2021

Please note your Apprenticeship Gateway will normally have other requirements including passing all the relevant modules, providing certificates of Level 2 English and Maths and having an up-to-date log of 20% off-the-job training – speak to your Work-based Learning Coach for further details on the Gateway requirements for your specific apprenticeship and your E-portfolio.
