Step one – You must provide evidence of  all your qualifications to Admissions.  You can do this by sending scans/photos of certificates to educationadmissions@shu.ac.uk

Step two (**For PGCE applicants only**) – It is a Department for Education (DfE) requirement that your original degree certificate (not a photocopy or an online version) is verified in person. The verification of your degree certificate in person does not impact on the progression of your application to the course, but it does impact on your ability to fully enrol on the course and gain access to student funding and/or bursaries.

We are aware that you may be on the final year of your degree at the moment and verification may not be possible until you have completed your award.  If you are aware that you will not receive your certificate by the start date of your course, please contact us at professionalchecks@shu.ac.uk to discuss options.

You will need to bring your original degree certificate to the University for it to be verified by a member of staff. To do this, please attend one of our drop in sessions below:

Tuesday            10:00-12:00 or 14:00-16:00         Robert Winston Building, Room F409, Collegiate Campus, S10 2BP

Wednesday      10:00-12:00 or 14:00-16:00         Bryan Nicholson Building, S1 4QL

Note that if you need to attend a face-to-face DBS check, we can verify your degree certificate at the same time (if you are in possession of the certificate at that point).  DO NOT delay completing the DBS check until you have your certificate as the DBS check is essential for progression of your application.

You will only be able to conditionally enrol until you have had your degree certificate verified.  You can only be conditionally enrolled for the first 4 weeks of the course, after which you will be withdrawn.

Note that if you studied your degree here at Sheffield Hallam University, it is not necessary for your degree certificate to be verified in person.
