I2Ri 2024 Breen Hadden Symposium
The 2024 Breen Hadden Symposium, held on Friday May 17th in the Dorothy Fleming Lecture Theatre, was a vibrant gathering of the I2Ri community. It was a fantastic opportunity for everyone to network, share ideas, and hear from PhD students, academics, and the Transforming Life Fellows about the impact of their work. The event showcased the wide-ranging and collaborative efforts within I2Ri, with speakers highlighting the latest breakthroughs in research and innovation aimed at solving today’s real-world challenges.
The program commenced with an opening speech by Prof Andrew Alderson, the director of the Industry and Innovation Research Institute.

Session 3 Presentations
The last session was an introduction of our Transforming Lives Fellows Dr Mulualem Gebreslassie Gebregiorgis and Dr Nik Georgopoulos, chaired by Dr Marjory Da Costa Abreu.
Dr Mulualem and Dr Nik both gave presentations detailing their career journey and the path that led them to Hallam as Transforming Lives Fellows.
This was followed by a panel discussion and Q&A also chaired by Dr Marjory.

The event ended with Prof Andrew Alderson presenting prizes to the winners of the image competition ad student presentations.
