A PhD student, Taiwo Agunbiade and a researcher, Olalekan Ojedokun from MERI received two awards for outstanding papers at the recently concluded International Conference on Sustainable Construction Materials and Technologies SCMT6 held at Lyon, France.
Following a successful Doctoral School PGR Showcase day on Thursday 6th June, which included the SHU final for the Three Minutes Thesis (3MT) competition, we would like to share with you all that Chinenye Okonkwo was the overall winner of this competition- taking away both the judges and the peoples vitae award!
Postgraduate students here in I2Ri have again returned an impressive Postgraduate Research Experience Survey (PRES) this year.
The results show that across all disciplines in I2Ri, (BMRC, MERI, CENTRIC, NCEFE and the current departments of E&M, B&C and Computing) overall satisfaction from last year increased by a huge 9% and is now at 80%.
My primary ambition is to establish a multidisciplinary team that integrates bioinformatics with lab-based and clinical oncology research, complementing the latter fields with in-silico analytics.

The 2024 Breen Hadden Symposium, held on Friday May 17th in the Dorothy Fleming Lecture Theatre, was a vibrant gathering of the I2Ri community. Aerospace Cutting Tool (ACT) ltd., in partnership with Sheffield Hallam University and CSL Soft ltd., have developed the world’s first all-electric Superplastic Forming/Diffusion Bonding press, which went on show to the public for the first time at the MACH 2024 exhibition. Using electro-mechanical actuators, the new press offers a cost- effective, affordable solution with the added advantage of increased process flexibility within a single unit.
Marta Mirecka is a PhD student within the Biomolecular Sciences Research Centre at Sheffield Hallam University, with a passion for cardiovascular science, gut-brain relationship and linguistic.
Dr Viswanathan received his MSc degree in Industrial Mathematical Modelling and PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Loughborough University.
He held a postdoctoral position at the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Colorado on a collaborative research work with Iowa State University, Princeton University and the National Energy Technology Lab in the USA.
