The I2Ri‘s National Centre of Excellence for Food Engineering (NCEFE) was profiled as part of a feature on the region’s food and drink manufacturing sector in Yorkshire Business Insider.
NCEFE Innovation Manager, Amanda Johnston, was interviewed as part of the feature.
Amanda tells Insider:
“I’d never lost my passion for the food and drink manufacturing sector. We will always need to eat and it’s an excellent provider of career pathways from entry level to develop staff. But there’s also a lot of potential to improve it through research and innovation.
The business models, margins and fast pace make it a very reactive sector compared with others like automotive where you know what your orders will be and there’s a long shelf life.”
