Welcome Lyca to RIS
We would like to give a warm welcome to Lyca (Lycaena Debora Jarina) from the University of São Paulo who will be hosted by the Research and Innovation Services (RIS) for two months to learn more about our activities, our Hallam Values and behaviours, and our PGR activities.

Lyca’s visit will be supervised by Anita Gurney, Jane Wright and also Márjory Da Costa Abreu from the Department of Computing.
Lyca is from Brazil and works at the Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science (ICMC), one of the research and teaching units of the University of São Paulo (USP). USP has been recently ranked the 85th best university in the world (QS World University).
At ICMC, Lyca is the secretary of the Computer Science and Computational Mathematics Post Graduate Course, giving support for the Program Coordinator, Students and Advisors. The Postgraduate Programme in Computer Science and Computational Mathematics is one of the largest postgraduate courses in computer science in Brazil. It has about 400 students and 72 advisors.
This is our second visitor from USP – many of you will have met with Fernanda who was here during October and November last year.
Please do give Lyca a warm welcome and she hopes to meet with many of you in the coming weeks.
