AWRC supports people category at 2025 Active Pregnancy Foundation awards

The Advanced Wellbeing Research Centre was pleased to sponsor the people category at the Active Pregnancy Foundation awards on Friday.

Award winners at the APF awards 2025The Active Pregnancy Foundation (APF) supports women to stay active throughout pregnancy and beyond by providing expertise and advice, changing culture & challenging policy. It was co-founded by Dr Marlize De Vivo – who also leads the NCSEM in Sheffield and co-leads health innovation at the AWRC.

The APF awards celebrated the people and organisations who support pregnant and postnatal women to become or stay active, as well as excellence in leadership, good practice, innovation, and research.

A huge congratulations to all of the winners, including those in the people category who were presented with their awards by Dr Gabriella Penitente of the School of Sport and Physical Activity:

✨ Sports Practitioner of the Year – Kate Hutchings
✨ Perinatal Practitioner of the Year – Dr Lamia Zafrani
✨ Researcher of the Year – Prof Kirsty Elliott-Sale
✨ This Mum Moves Ambassador of the Year – Cathy Carr
✨ Inequalities Champion of the Year – Alima Ashfaq
