AWRC to host inaugural children and young people physical activity and sport knowledge exchange event
Calling school staff, community providers, healthcare professionals, public health representatives and all those with an interest in children and young people’s physical activity and sport (CYPAS).
The Sheffield Hallam University CYPAS research network is holding its inaugural knowledge exchange event at the Advanced Wellbeing Research Centre on Wednesday 18th June from 1.30 – 5pm. This is a FREE event and open to everyone (booking details below).
The knowledge exchange event has been designed to support researchers and those in practice to connect, and to improve the dissemination of research to those who can make best use of it. Research will be presented from physical activity and sport in education, community and health settings.
The event will be hosted by Dr Gareth Jones, Dave Hembrough and Maxine Gregory of the SHU School of Sport and Physical Activity. Presenters include:
- Dr Sarah Williams: The need for a reimagined approach to PE
- Prof. Liane Azevedo: Exploring the use of mobile devices by young children: preliminary findings from the iKids study
- Kim Longbon: Workload prioritisation of primary PE subject leaders: the vast and the various
- Dr Louisa Horner: Is PE/school sport really the panacea for improving the health and personal development of young people in AP?
