STARE approach to evaluating evidence

The STARE methodology enables a clear analytical review of experiences and how they can contribute towards the evidence you put into your E-portfolio to demonstrate the achievement of new knowledge, skills or behaviours.

STARE stands for: Situation, Task, Action, Result and Evaluation.

The table below is a simple framework for that reflective STARE exercise.

Watch this video about how evidence can be identified.

You can find some examples of types of evidence and how to apply STARE here.

This methodology will be supported in curriculum and work based assessment, as well as in our Apprenticeship Progress Reviews

Reflection underpins all learning and can take place as an internal thought process and also in a shared context including Progress Reviews, classroom, or on line informal conversations and assignment submissions.
