SUMMARY

Dr. Ateh Mbako Robinson is a highly accomplished physician-scientist currently pursuing a PhD in Biomolecular Science and Cancer Research at Sheffield Hallam University.

With a strong background in medicine, pathology, and oncology research, he is dedicated to advancing translational cancer research and transforming global cancer care through innovative approaches and education.

RESEARCH

Lamin A/C and Lamin B1/B2 proteins are part of the nuclear lamina. Our previous study showed that  low levels of Lamin B1 are indicative of a more aggressive form of blood cancers.

In this project, we  will investigate the downstream effects of reducing LMNB1 expression by employing in vitro and in  vivo models. The main technique will be a multiplex mass spectrometry imaging, which provides  spatial data on proteins of interest.

We will compare the 3D-cell model with lymphoid tissue from a  LMNB1 knockout mice. The aim is to establish biological suitability of this tissue engineered model  in studying nuclear lamina dynamics in B-lymphocytes.
