PhD Thesis Title: Intelligent Intrusion Detection of Cyber-attacks in Assistive Multi-modal Robotic Systems in Healthcare
Director of Studies: Dr Jing Wang
Supervisors: Prof. Alessandro Di Nuovo, Dr Jims Marchang

RESEARCH

The research will co-design and experimentally validate a Self-Supervised Robotics System (SSRS) with an Intelligent Data Controller (IDC), which will automatically supervise the human-robot interaction to safeguard users’ security, privacy and, above all, from cyber-attacks.

The focus will be on designing intelligent intrusion detection and prevention for continuous & dynamic monitoring to guarantee a secure multimodal robotic interaction in healthcare and well-being applications. The MARS will collect, observe, and analyse data to understand the motives of an attack and the behaviour of the attackers and to provide necessary intel that will guide the future refinements of the security measures in an ongoing development process.
