Recordings of taught sessions should be published to students using Panopto. This includes any taught sessions that have been recorded using Zoom. Panopto provides advanced video editing tools, and simpler workflows for archiving, finding, and sharing videos securely online. The following guidance explains the process for accessing and downloading a recording from Zoom and uploading the recording to Panopto. Once you have uploaded the recording to Panopto, please remember to delete the original recording from Zoom.

Download the recording from Zoom

Step 1: Sign into Zoom at https://shu.zoom.us

Step 2: In the left-hand navigation, click Recordings.

Step 3: Make sure you have the Cloud Recordings tab open. From the Topic column, click the title of the meeting you wish to download a recording for.

Step 4: Next to the recording you want to download, click the Download button.

Step 5: Follow the prompts on your computer to save the files to your computer. (Depending on your recording settings there may be more than one file to download. The video file you will be uploading to Panopto will have the file extension .mp4).
