Microsoft Teams Meetings will become the recommended platform for any synchronous online teaching from September 2024, as the University retires its license with Zoom.

As part of the transition, a deep integration with Blackboard Ultra will be implemented. This will allow for Teams Meetings to be scheduled and created easily within Blackboard sites, automatically managing invites and access to teaching sessions to enrolled students and staff on the module, and populating participants’ Outlook Calendars.

Full guidance and instructions, as well as advice on using Teams effectively in a teaching environment, will be available alongside the launch of the tool. In the meantime please contact digitallearning@shu.ac.uk with any queries.
