Turnitin is changing.
The way that Turnitin works with Blackboard is changing from 1 September. This is a necessary change as our current integration will no longer be supported by Turnitin in the future.
For 2021/22 Blackboard sites, a new Turnitin integration must be used. However for older Blackboard sites, the existing Turnitin integration will continue to work until end of August 2022.
Whilst some aspects of the user interface have changed visually, there are very few changes to functionality.
Key changes for staff are:
- Visual appearance of the interface looks slightly different
- Minor changes to how a Turnitin submission point is edited after creation
- Adding a Turnitin link is now in the Build Content menu, not the Assessment menu
- Anonymous submissions are no longer facilitated
- Bulk Upload function no longer available
- Reports will now be accessed via the Turnitin link, not control panel as in the past
Key changes for students are:
- Visual appearance of the interface looks slightly different
- The Turnitin Icon no longer shows next to Turnitin submission points on Blackboard
- Turnitin receipts are no longer e-mailed to students, instead they can be downloaded
- Student resubmissions are slightly different: student guidance has been updated to support this
