The first AWRC lunch and learn session hits the ground running
How do you design a golf green you can pack up and take on the road?
Or measure whether a tennis court gives a team too much of an advantage?
Or create rankings for international yacht races?
At our first ever AWRC Lunch & Learn session, Dr John Kelley of the Sports Engineering Research Group (SERG) and School of Sport and Physical Activity gave us a fascinating insight into all these topics and spoke about the many ways research and innovation are shaping the future of sport, from bespoke long distance running shoes to injury recovery apps and lots more.
These informal colocator sessions are all about sharing ideas, building connections, and facilitating collaboration in physical activity research and innovation across Sheffield Hallam University.
Thanks to everyone who came along, and especially to John for such a brilliant insight into his work!
