English and Literacy Skills

For all apprentices it is important to set individual targets on your progress and development beyond a baseline. Always review and discuss the assessment outcomes and challenges in curriculum and understand how you can aim for enhanced achievement and strategies to address any challenges by referring to your academic adviser. Extracurricular support for writing and communication skills can be accessed here.

Some apprentices will start their apprenticeship without GCSE (Level 2) English qualifications (or recognised equivalent) and so will be enrolled on a functional skills course with a college provider or equivalent. Your Work-based Learning Coach will keep your progress under review, to hit targets and milestones associated with that Level 2 qualification.
