Apprenticeship Progress Reviews must take place every 12 weeks as a minimum, as requirement of the Apprenticeship Funding. There are typically four in a year, one of which will be in the work place (restrictions permitting).
- In a typical year there will be 4 APRs, with a 5th one occurring in year three.
- There be a Gateway review to ensure readiness for End Point Assessment in the final months of the practical period (as required by the IfATE Assessment Plan)
- APRs should be tripartite and so include genuine and evidenced employer engagement.
- For Apprentices with any wellbeing, safeguarding needs additional touch points will be agreed and scheduled for the necessary parties
- For leaners with Special Educational Needs and Disability reasonable adjustments will be implemented which may include changes to the duration, format and or frequency (not less than 12 weeks)
- Once a review has been completed and confirmed by the Apprentice and the work place mentor the Coach will finalise the review and ensure it is uploaded to the E-Track System in MAYTAS.
- The coach must update the Overall Tracker KPIs for the Apprentice and Overall B-R-A-G status for the Apprentice
- The next review date should be agreed before closing down the review.
- A minimum of one in four reviews will be scheduled to take place at the place of employment.
- The other three reviews will normally be held remotely using digital meeting software to ensure tripartite participation.
- For Apprentices who are at risk (Red status) then additional reviews should be agreed, with greater frequency to reflect the specific situation of the Apprentice.
- For amber learners increased frequency may be considered, but other forms of communication between reviews will normally take place as necessary.
- Additional work place visits may be scheduled where this is agreed to support Apprenticeship progress.
