What are your values?

Reflective Practice and Personal Development modules are a chance for you to compare various value sets on offer to you, exploring these in your class exercise, for example

  • Sheffield Hallam Student Charter and Apprenticeship Commitment Statement
  • behaviours and professional ethics set out in your apprenticeship standard
  • British values set out in this resource
  • values of your organisation – all students should be actively researching these

Assessment Opportunities: Specific Reflective Practice modules include reflections on different value sets and how you see these in action through your own behaviour and the culture of your organisation/sector. To aid your reflection you should create a table to compare the British values with the learning outcomes (including professional behaviours) embedded in your of your apprenticeship course. Ask your Module Leader for support with this task. The output from that exercise is a trigger for further reflection and you can draw on that for related assessed submissions in which you need to explore, compare, or analyse values and behaviours that relate to your apprenticeship and job role.

Gateway Requirements: Your Work-based Learning (WBL) Coach helps you identify and upload progressive evidence of engagement with British values during your apprenticeship. That evidence should also relate well to specific professional behaviours in your apprenticeship standard. There are opportunities in curriculum as well to update your E-portfolio on this theme.
