Equality, diversity and inclusion in your apprenticeship

Review the behaviours in your Apprenticeship Standard and identify those that most relate to the themes of equality, diversity and inclusion. They might look like these examples:

  • research and consider targets to apply the relevant code of conduct and regulations, ethics and professional standards relevant to your industry’s recognised professional bodies
  • understand the importance of equality and diversity and demonstrate these attributes so as to meet the requirements of fairness at work.
  • be able to assist in planning to avoid conflict and resolving issues that do arise.

Below are discussion points for your Apprenticeship Progress Review:

  • In relation to your professional behaviours as set out in your own Apprenticeship Standard, discuss a situation when difficult, or unexpected judgement was needed.
  • How did you feel? What did you do? What was the impact?
  • What evidence have you got or might collate for your E-portfolio in the future?
  • What actions can you agree in response to your employer’s expectations and your own understanding and views on the idea of unconscious bias?
